I’m Leah—teacher, student,yogini, mother and singer.
Since I was young, I’ve been guided by curiosity and a desire to grow. I’ve always been fascinated by how the mind and body work together, and that question continues to shape my journey today.
I discovered yoga in 2012 while living in Barcelona. From the beginning, my practice felt grounding and meaningful. Even though it wasn’t always easy to stay consistent in a busy world, something had been awakened in me.
Over time, yoga became a steady path of transformation—teaching me patience, discipline, and self-awareness.
In 2014, I moved from Mexico to Berlin while pregnant with my first child. Yoga became a lifeline during this time—it helped me connect with my body and emotions, manage stress, and prepare for the powerful experience of giving birth.
I became a mother in 2015, and my child has been my greatest teacher ever since.
Over the years, I’ve studied with inspiring teachers like Usha Devi, Marla Apt, Parveen Nair, and Gurmukh. I’ve also attended workshops, women’s circles, kirtans, and trainings across the world, learning from many different traditions and communities.
In 2017, I traveled to India to complete my Hatha Yoga Teacher Training at the Nada Yoga School, where I immersed myself in traditional teachings. Later, I certified as a Khalsa Way prenatal and postnatal yoga teacher at Jivamukti Berlin, learning from Sarah Kamrath and Gurmukh.
In 2020, I returned to India to complete my 500-hour advanced training at Rishikesh Yog Peeth Abharayanya, deep in the Himalayas—an experience that helped me connect even more deeply to the roots of yoga.
Now based in Berlin, I teach workshops, private sessions, and group classes for people of all backgrounds.
To me, yoga is much more than physical postures. It’s a way of life—a practice that helps us reconnect with ourselves and each other. I’m passionate about yogic philosophy, living yoga off the mat, and exploring how our personal practice can support collective liberation. I believe that true healing happens not just individually, but together.
In our practice, we make space for stillness, presence, and inner peace. Yoga supports us in staying strong, healthy, and grounded—so we can show up fully for ourselves and for the world around us.
I’d be honored to share this journey with you.
With love and gratitude,
Leah Birkenfeld
